This year we offer a unique experience with 2 international artists, Nacho Gascon (Spain) and Niels Bijl (Netherlands) along with 2 local artists Loretta Palmeiro and Jay Byrnes. We want to take this chance to thank the guest tutors we've had over the past 9 years.

During the three days students will have the opportunity to play in ensembles, work on repertoire, technique and  have a jazz workshop with Loretta Palmeiro.

Nacho Gascón (Spain) is a saxophonist who understands the classical history of his instrument and who at the same time explores the new and endless ways of expression that this versatile instrument is capable of developing. Since 2001 he has been teaching Chamber Music and Saxophone at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña and since 2013 he has also been a specialist in orchestral repertoire at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón. He is also the Music director of the Andorra Sax Fest International Saxophone competition. Nacho Gascón is a D’Addario and Forestone Japan endorsed artist.

Loretta Palmeiro (Australia) is a Sydney based bandleader, composer, arranger and saxophonist/woodwind specialist. She is an Australian Arts Council Grant recipient, a founding member of the Spyglass Gypsies, director of Alma Orquestra, and co-leader of Some of Two Parts, her composition-in- real-time duo with Mark Isaacs

Niels Bijl (Netherlands) is a Dutch saxophonist who places musicality and integrity at the forefront of his approach. His major projects include CDs with repertoire for tenor saxophone, the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet, The Four Baritones and the Baritone Institute as well as his collaboration with Ronald Moelker and many other varied musicians from accordion to harp to string quartet.

Jay Byrnes (Australia) currently teaches and lectures in Saxophone and Music Fundamentals at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as well as running the Saxophone Academy Sydney. He is a founding member of Nexas Quartet and has had the privilege to perform throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe and South America.
